Energy Transfer and Population of 4S3/2 and 4F9/2 Erbium Levels in Er3+:Na0.4Y0.6F2.2 Laser Crystals under Direct and Upconversion Selective IR Excitation

Abstract

Energy transfer processes in Er3+:Na0.4Y0.6F2.2 laser crystals under selective laser diode pumping are studied theoretically and experimentally. Concentration and pump power dependences of the intensity of luminescence from different erbium levels are investigated.
