Self-Similar Femtosecond Fiber Lasers with Pulse Energies Above 10 nJ

Abstract

By exploiting self-similar pulse propagation in an Yb fiber laser, pulse energies up 14 nJ, the highest produced to date by a short-pulse fiber laser, are achieved. The pulses can be dechirped to <100-fs duration.
