Optical Isolator for Unpolarized Laser Radiation at Multi-Kilowatt Average Power

Abstract

A fiber coupled birefringence compensated Faraday Isolator set-up has been developed. At 2 kW average power a transmission greater 93 % and an isolation of 15 dB was achieved. No degradation in beam quality was observed.
