Abstract

We present high-repetition-rate passively mode-locked vertical-extemal-cavity surface-emitting semiconductor lasers in a 1:1 mode ratio configuration, achieving a record repetition rate of 50 GHz in 3.1-ps pulses with 42 mW average output power.
