Abstract

We describe a laser-diode end-pumped Yb:YAG zig-zag slab amplifier with high-gain (g0leff = 3) and with novel parasitic oscillation suppression. This could enable efficient energy scaling to meet the laser requirements for remote wind velocity measurements.
