Single-polarization ultra-large-mode-area Yb-doped photonic crystal fiber

Abstract

We report on an ytterbium-doped, single-polarization, single-mode photonic crystal fiber possessing a 70μm active core (mode-field-area: 2300 μm2). Characterization and comparison to a similar fiber without polarization control demonstrates the potential of the fiber design.
