Abstract

Passively Q-switched GdVO4/Nd:GdVO4 and YVO4/Nd:YVO4 laser performance using direct 879 nm pumping was demonstrated for the first time., YVO4/Nd:YVO4 compared with GdVO4/Nd:GdVO4 is a more favorable gain medium if higher repetition rates are required.
