Abstract

In this paper we discuss a technique that employs superstructure fiber Bragg gratings for coherent control of short pulses. This is achieved by filtering the incoming spectrum, both in amplitude and phase. Using such a grating we have achieved the reshaping of 2.5 ps soliton pulses with a repetition rate of 10 GHz into 20 ps rectangular pulses.
