Low Temperature Hypersensitisation of Phosphosilicate Fibres in Hydrogen

Abstract

Conventional hydrogen loading of phosphosilicate optical fibres at relatively low temperatures (800C) is sufficient to enhance the fibre photosensitivity after hydrogen out-diffusion allowing permanent Bragg grating structures to be produced.
