Abstract

We demonstrate the realization of chirped, sampled fiber Bragg gratings for use as multi-channel dispersion compensators. We show that by using chirped phase-mask, and by trimming relative phases between individual grating sections, longer sampled fiber Bragg gratings with more channels can be realized while keeping the dispersion compensation function.
