Femtosecond induced Bragg gratings in silica and exotic optical fibers

Abstract

IR-femtosecond radiation can inscribe Bragg gratings in a large variety of optical fibers that are glassy or crystalline in nature. The inscription method, fiber properties and applications are presented.
