Use of a correlation diffusion equation to model the acousto-photonic interaction

Abstract

We performed experiments combining Diffuse Optical Tomography and Acousto-Optic imaging. We describe the acousto-optic interaction with a correlation diffusion equation where the ultrasonic modulation appears as a “correlation absorbing” coefficient.
