Power - efficient Grating - based Scanning Optical Delay Line For Optical Coherence Tomography

Abstract

We present a grating-based time-domain RSOD that can achieve similar scanning performance as Fourier-domain RSOD, while provides 6dB improved power efficiency. This 6dB is equivalent to about 4.0dB SNR advantage for a typical balanced-detection OCT.
