Detecting pre-cancerous cells using angle-resolved low coherence interferometry

Abstract

Angle-resolved low coherence interferometry is used to detect pre-cancerous basal epithelial cells in intact, unstained animal tissues via quantitative nuclear morphology measurements. Recent results are presented which demonstrate the ability to assess the efficacy of chemopreventive agents.
