Mechanism of the ultrasonic modulation of fluorescence in turbid media

Abstract

The interaction of a focused ultrasound beam with fluorescent molecules excited by a modulated light source was investigated. Components with new frequencies occur because of nonlinear interactions and can be used for lifetime imaging.
