Abstract

We derived simplified spherical harmonics approximated-radiation transport equations in three-dimension. We solved the P3 approximated-transport equations using finite element methods and compared the solutions with that from 1st-order diffusion equation and MC simulations. We observed that the derived transport model is able to improve the 1st-diffusion solutions in transport-like homogeneous or heterogeneous medium.
