Abstract

In this work, we study optimal scanning geometry for imaging a finger joint by three-dimensional photoacoustic tomography using joint-like tissue phantom experiments. We also show that the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) finger joint in a human subject can be three dimensionally imaged in our optimized spherical scanning.
