Towards quantitative imaging of absorption coefficients in turbid media by combining photoacoustic and acousto-optic imaging

Abstract

It is demonstrated by simulations that absolute absorption coefficient imaging is feasible by combining photoacoustic and acousto-optic imaging. The results give an outlook on truly quantitative chromophore imaging technology without use of computational models.
