Finite-element-method based reconstruction of heterogeneous conductivity distribution under point-illumination in trans-rectal imaging geometry for thermo-acoustic tomography

Abstract

We simulate trans-rectal thermo-acoustic tomography by using a convex-array of ultrasound transducer and a point microwave illuminator. Tissue conductivity distribution is reconstructed by decoupling the electrical field from the power loss density.
