Abstract
We present here the effect of molecular weight of poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVCz) on dynamic holographic imaging. The molecular weights of 23,000, 100,000 and 290,000 were used. All compositions of photorefractive polymeric composites (PPCs) used in this study were PVCz/4-azacycloheptylbenzylidenemalononitrile (7-DCST)/carbazoylethylpropionate (CzEPA)/ [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) (44/35/20/1 wt.%). The dynamic holographic images reflected from a spatial light modulator (SLM) were used as an object beam. The appropriate performance for dynamic holographic imaging was obtained by the PPC film with Mw:23,000 PVCz. The PPC film with Mw:23,000 PVCz could clearly follow the motion and updated image immediately. The application of similar concepts will contribute to four-dimensional (4D–3D plus time) holographic display development.
