Light Scattering Serves as Optical Signature for Detection of Positive Surgical Margins on prostate capsule

Abstract

We employed light reflectance spectroscopy to quantify light scattering of prostate cancer on the gland capsules from ex-vivo human prostate specimens. Pathology results confirmed that light scattering is significantly distinct between cancerous and benign prostate capsule tissue.
