Wavelength conversion using N=2 soliton decay and recovery in fiber, initiated by step changes in dispersion

Abstract

The decay of N=2 solitons, initiated by a step dispersion change, is shown to form stable pulse pairs whose wavelengths are shifted to either side of the input wavelength. Partial soliton recovery is also demonstrated.
