Experimental verification of the penalty produced by polarization effects in fiber recirculating loops

Abstract

We use optical fiber recirculating loop experiments to validate a reduced Stokes model that allows us to compute the penalty produced by polarization effects in single-channel and wavelength-division multiplexed systems.
