Rotational Wavepacket Revivals for Phase Modulation of Ultrafast Pulses: High Intensity Effects

Abstract

Heterodyne detected transient grating spectroscopy is used to predict the optimum conditions for compressing ultrafast pulses using the rotational dynamics of molecules. The effects of laser intensity on the chirp produced by rotational wavepacket revivals are examined both experimentally and theoretically.
