Abstract

Dramatically lengthened coherence lifetimes in Erbium doped crystals for spatial-spectral holography applications at 1.5 μm were obtained through optimization of multiple material design parameters. Microscopic processes responsible for spin dynamics were elucidated and quantitatively modeled.
