Abstract

Resonant enhancement of magnetization-induced second-harmonic generation due to the phase-mismatch compensation at the photonic band gap edge is observed in magnetophotonic crystals formed from a stack of ferromagnetic Bi-substituted yttrium-iron-garnet layers.
