Tuning of transmission characteristics with double layer metallic photonic crystals in the sub-THz region

Abstract

We demonstrated the tunability of transmission characteristics of double-layer metallic photonic crystals. One transmission peak is split into two peaks with increasing the lateral displacement. Such phenomenon is attributed to the coupling of two surface-plasmon-polaritons.
