Confocal autofluorescence spectroscopy of biological tissues

Abstract

The depth-resolved autofluorescence of biological tissues are investigated with a confocal spectroscopy system. The results are consistent with histology analysis and demonstrate that depth-resolved autofluorescence may provide more diagnostic information to characterize tissue pathology.
