Abstract

Undesirable SPM (Self-Phase Modulation) and XPM (Cross-Phase Modulation) between counter-propagating lights in NOLMs (Nonlinear Optical Loop Mirror) are investigated. A solution to overcome these impairments is also proposed and experimentally validated.
