Demonstration of a fourth order polarimeter using quadratic nonlinear detection

Abstract

We demonstrate a device that measures the fourth order polarization coherency matrix using a quadratic nonlinear detector. The device is shown to distinguish different PMD states in pulse trains with the same SOP.
