Single frequency solid state laser operated with multi-beam waist mode under tightly focused axially pumping

Abstract

Single frequency lasing is achieved even above 15 times of threshold at the 1/3-degenerate resonator configuration in a tight-focused Nd:YVO4 laser. It results from almost uniformly spatial hole-burning due to excitation of multi-beam waist mode.
