Tuning of powerful THz pulses by changing the tilt angle of the pump pulse front

Abstract

We demonstrate tuning of subpicosecond THz pulses in LiNbO3 across the 1.0-4.4 THz range with energies up to 400 pJ and quantum conversion efficiency of 3%. Tunability from 8.5 – 11.5 THz is predicted in GaP.
