Transmission of wavelength references via a commercial transparent optical network over 534 km

Abstract

Wavelength references at 1550nm were transmitted over a 16-channel 534km DWDM network carrying live traffic as part of the EU CREW project. No degradation of the reference wavelength was observed down to the 10−8 level.
