Abstract

A compact multi-wavelength transmitter/receiver for coarse WDM was developed and 10-Gb/s × 4-ch interconnection was experimentally demonstrated. Laser diodes and photodiodes were hybrid-integrated on a silica-based planar lightwave circuit with an arrayed-waveguide grating (AWG).
