Abstract

Glass integrated optical ring resonators are fabricated using silver ion-exchange. Propagation losses of 0.1dB/cm are consistently achieved yielding a finesse of 40. These resonators are promising devices for frequency selective applications including Sagnac-based optical gyroscopes.
