Abstract

We report the modelocked operation of two Yb-doped oxyorthosilicates. Y2SiO5 provided 122fs pulses at 1040nm, with 410mW average power. Lu2SiO5 provided up to 2.6W, 260fs pulses, at 1058nm reaching an optical efficiency greater than 17%.
