Chirped-pulse frequency conversion of ultrafast pulses to the deep-UV

Abstract

We report a 10-fold increase in energy in the generation of ultrafast UV pulses through frequency mixing in a hollow waveguide. The UV, blue and IR pulses are characterized with a novel transient-grating FROG apparatus.
