Tunable dispersion compensator for 40-Gb/s optical transmission systems fabricated by reconstruction and equivalent chirp method

Abstract

Variable chromatic dispersion in 40-Gb/s fiber system is compensated accurately by the FBG designed with reconstruction-equivalent-chirp method. High performance with tunable range of 175ps/nm and group delay ripple about ±5ps is reported.
