Modeling and optimization of multimode microstructure optical fibers

Abstract

Microstructure optical fibers have potential advantages for many applications including multimode transmission. Perturbative modeling methods are extended to optimization of group-velocity. Velocity-matched multimode microstructure fibers with extremely high index contrast are presented.
