Storage and release of femtosecond laser pulses in a resonant photonic crystal

Abstract

Ultrashort laser pulses can be decelerated or stopped by lauching the femtosecond pulses into a resonant photonic crystal and release by re-acceleration can be realized through inter-pulse collision.
