Tunable Fiber Laser Using Electroholography

Abstract

A tunable fiber laser composed of an EDFA ring resonator and an electroholographic switching element is presented. Tunability is accomplished by electric field multiplexing of volume holograms. The performance envelope of two architectures is discussed.
