Unexpected properties of a laser resonator with volumetric Bragg grating end mirrors

Abstract

A pair of nearly identical volumetric Bragg gratings held at different temperatures serving as the end mirrors of a Ti:sapphire laser made possible very narrow output linewidth and enabled easy optimization of the laser output.
