Fiber Taper Mach-Zehnder Modal Interferometer for Broadband Low-Cost DPSK Demodulation and Duobinary Signal Generation

Abstract

We present a novel silica fiber taper modal Mach-Zehnder interferometer design for low-cost broadband DPSK demodulation and multi-channel duobinary signals generation. The design is compact, temperature-insensitive and easily fabricated in standard single mode fiber.
