Near-Field Mediated Terahertz Transmission through Random Media

Abstract

We report on observations of extraordinary terahertz transmission through dense metallic particle ensembles five orders of magnitude thicker than the skin depth. The transmission is mediated by coherent near-field surface wave coupling across the ensemble.
