Abstract

Single-maximum nondiffracting beams were generated both by truncating pulsed Bessel beams and with thin-film axicons. Negligible crosstalk is observed in arrays of needle-shaped beams over substantial distances, enabling applications in pulse diagnostics and multichannel processing.
