Efficient Doubling of Femtosecond Pulses in Aperiodically and Periodically Poled KTP Crystals

Abstract

Efficient doubling of femtosecond pulses from a mode-locked Yb:KYW laser in periodically poled and aperiodically poled KTP is reported. Second-harmonic conversion efficiencies of up to 58% have been achieved and 354-fs pulses generated at 522nm.
