Abstract

We propose and demonstrate self-clocked serial-to-parallel/parallel-to-serial conversion (time demux/mux) of asynchronous optical packets with an optically-clocked transistor array. Clock generation, demux/mux are performed with a compact, low-power OEIC, enabling a high- performance asynchronous optical label swapper.
