Optical amplification in the 1300nm telecommunications window in a Bi-doped silica fiber

Abstract

We report optical amplification in a bismuth-doped silica fiber at 1308nm with 810nm excitation and demonstrated simultaneous optical amplification at two wavelengths near 1300nm region. This wavelength is the closest to the important telecommunications window.
