Arbitrary Focal-Field Polarization Control for Optical Microscopy

Abstract

We propose a convenient method for controlling the three-dimensional polarization vector at the focus of a high-numerical-aperture lens using a linearly polarized input field. This form of polarization microscopy requires no polarization optics.
