Efficient antiguiding without omnidirectional reflectors

Abstract

Reflector omnidirectionality is not always necessary for efficient anti-guiding of arbitrary polarized modes in low-index core photonic band gap waveguides. In some regimes ”low” and ”high” index-contrast reflectors can confine ”bad” TM polarization equally well.
